  Without a booking on a Saturday night - were delighted to get a table & seated quickly- with excellent service. Mains were Rump & Duck. Tasty & beautiful to look at. Yummy chats & side salad. Sublime Choc Mousse. Ambience , including delightful piano & acoustics that meant I could chat comfortably with my partner without loud noise from other diners. Made for a beautifully memorable evening !

  Restaurant looks well fitted. Our seating was bench along the wall. Aircon blowing cool air made it uncomfortable. Bench always challenges as you can't seat your own distance from the table. Menu had great offerings. Food was average in flavour. Ingredients and presentation promised much more than we received. The Roo was bland and dull. Pork was similar and overcooked. Everything was "okay" and service was fine. Just expected more flavour from a wonderful ingredient list.

  Loved the whiskey bar. The staff were brilliant really friendly and knew thier stuff.
  Also went out of their way to help me find my lost Ireland vs Australia ticket wouldn't have got in if wasn't for the help of the Malt staff.

  I wasn't going to put in a review, but two weeks agonising over whether I should or not, I was encouraged to do so.
  Malt Dining is an outstanding restaurant, and deserves all the credit it receives. We dined on Monday 4th June, and were totally amazed by the lack of quality control out of the kitchen. Serving an entree of oysters with one which was obviously 'off', not only by the look but also that distinct smell. Staff were told, but no response.
  The three main courses all had issues with the quality of the meat dishes. Tough, tasteless and generally a real disappointment.
  It was a bad night, and no-one is a winner from this. The staff were effecient, friendly and attentive, but a little more care and duty of a mutual interest would have been appreciated.
  So there, I've said it.
  Sorry, it was a really shocking effort, and the fact it was a Monday should not be any excuse at all. Best wishes for the future, of which you will have success in abundance. We shall return and give you the benefit of the doubt and a second chance.
