It is staffed by very helpful people who love books and the layout is rather like entering an Escher drawing. It is a Bibliophile's oasis and well worth a visit. The only thing it lacks is an on-site Cafe but there are plenty of those in the neighborhood, so it isn't a major omission. It is just that the smell of old books combined with that of coffee is a major aggregative pheromone for book lovers, almost an aphrodisiac. If the owners of Archives could distill it and spray it around the footpath their sales might go through the roof. But then of course stampeding bibliophile's and tramplings unto death might be an unfortunate unintended consequence. The topic needs research and there is probably at least one book on the subject lurking somewhere in the labyrinth-like depths of Archives.
