  Poor form on the part of the operator. Flights were cancelled by airline so was unable to make it to Brisbane, immediately called to tell them we would not be able to check-in and the booking would need to be cancelled. They acknowledged, and sent an email back indicating the booking was cancelled but they went ahead and charged full amount of stay anyway (2 rooms for 2 nights). Have reached out to them to ask why, but didn't respond.
  Gave them business in the past but won't be staying here again

  Kept getting emails before I arrived asking me to check in. 4 then 2 days before I arrived. I disregarded the emails, thinking it's not a flight. I also didn't want to email ID off to an email with potential for identity theft. On arrival at the hotel, I produced my DL and CC to reception to check in. I was told to check myself in via my phone. Call me old fashioned but at 300 a night, I'd expect something a little more personal than this.
  A colleague of the 1st reception recognised this and took my physical ID and checked me in. Beautiful hotel, rooms.
  The rooms seem a little tired, turning the blinds direction uncovered dust on one side.
  But the most comfortable bed I've slept in, in years of travel.
  Really amazing building, the list was even interesting.

  I would never stay here again. I considered moving to a new hotel but it was too late at night. I provided the below feedback to the hotel months ago and got no response.
  
  There were a number of broken items (door handle, hairdryer) and dirty marks on furniture (ironing board, sofas, chair). There was also a weird smell throughout the corridor and in the room, like an old food or a musty uni hostel smell.
  
  I understand it's a very old building but it's very easy to replace basic furniture or provide room spray in each room.

  We stayed during the christmas period and owner was very accommodating- allowed us to change our dates multiple times. 5 stars for their service.
  
  Location was great just 5 mins walk to the central train station and room and toilet was really clean and spotless ( no dust or stain) although the furnitures were a bit dated which we were fine with as they add to the vintage feel.
  
  I love the room temperature (easy control), comfort of bed, cleanliness and powerful shower.

  Service was fantastic from start to finish, the other residents in the building were also very nice to chat to. Unfortunately the room photos advertised are not even a close match to what we received. I would put it down to borderline false advertising.
  
  We booked a 1 bedroom apartment that looked quite bright and fresh, ended up with a dank little corner room that looked like it hadn't been updated since 1931. No door between bedroom and living area, TV in the living area was a computer monitor at best and the one in the bedroom was basically an iPad stuck to the wall. Be very careful when booking here, and lower your room expectations by quite a lot.

  So pleased, everything you want is there at your finger tips. Breakfast is a no fuss, nothing out of the box but hey still a nice touch. The room we had was everything you need with a fully serviced apartment. So regal and comfortable! The young man on the desk maybe the manager but not sure..was so wonderfully awesome and so cool and friendly. He gave us great advice on a Japanese restaurant, and it's location. We saw him out that night and he said hello with a brief chat on passing. . What a nice guy/manager I hope the company appreciates him. I will be going back due to him.
